Besides HLS encryption, a very useful option to secure your videos is to restrict the domains on a global level. When configured, this policy will apply to all videos in your account.
When you restrict your domains on a global level, that means that the embed codes for ALL of the videos in your account will ONLY work when added to the domains that you whitelist. So if anyone does get access to your embed code by inspecting the source code of the web page, the embed code would be useless to them.
To set a global rule, click on the account settings in the bottom-left corner of the screen and then go to "Allowed Domains".
Move the toggle to the left, enter only the top level domain (without www & https) and click on the button "WHITELIST THIS DOMAIN". You can add as many domains as you wish and this policy will apply to all your videos, by default.
- When adding new domains, only add top level, no protocol. So just use example.com, do not use www.example.com or https://example.com.
**NOTE** If you wish to restrict domains just for some videos, you can refer to the corresponding article - Restricting A Single Video To Play On Certain Domain(s).
