The following applies only to Spotlightr videos that have their source linked over from YouTube.

On September 25th, 2018. YouTube may start forcing related videos to be played at the end of the video and when the video is paused, in addition to which they will also show channel avatar and video title in the player.

Will my videos be affected and how?

Your videos will be affected if the Youtube logo is showing in your Spotlightr video. If the logo is not showing, then none of the changes will apply to your videos and they will remain unaffected. Please note that currently it's extremely rare for a Youtube logo to appear in a Spotlightr video, so this is going to affect a very, very small number of videos on the platform.

If you do have a YouTube logo in the bottom right corner, then the following changes will happen.

  1. Related videos from the same channel will be shown when the video ends and when it's paused.

  2. Channel avatar and link as well as video title and link will be shown in the player.

NOTE: There are a few mentions also about YouTube preventing auto-play of videos, which are not fully specified so we will have to wait and see how that plays out.
