In this article, you will find all general requirements and recommendations for the metadata for Google and the main social networks.

Google bot (Json-LD)

General requirements:

  • Share Headline (Schema Name)

  • Share Text (Schema Description)

  • Share Image (Schema thumbnailURL)

Image resolution:

  • Min: 160 x 90

  • Max: 1920 x 1080

Image types:

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • GIF

Facebook

General requirements:

  • Share Headline (og:title)

  • Share Text (og:description)

  • Between 2 and 4 sentences (Recommended)

  • Share Image (og:image)

Image resolution:

  • Min: 200 x 200 pixels

  • Max: Not defined

Image types:

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • GIF

Twitter

General requirements:

  • Share Headline (og:title)

  • Max characters: 70

  • Share Text (og:description)

  • Max characters: 200

  • Share Image (og:image)

Image types:

  • JPG

  • PNG

  • WEBP

  • GIF

Image size:

  • Max: 5MB

Linkedin

General requirements:

  • Share Headline (og:title)

  • Share Text (og:description)

  • Share Image (og:image)

Image resolution:

  • Min: 1200 x 627

Image size:

  • Max: 5MB
